Sodalis Group to Acquire a Majority Stake in Artdeco Cosmetics Group

Italy-based Sodalis has agreed to acquire a majority stake in the German Artdeco Cosmetics Group, known for its affordable luxury brands, to solidify its presence in the beauty industry.WHO: Founded in 1985 by Helmut Baurecht, the family-owned Artdeco Group includes three brands. Its namesake flagship makeup label, Artdeco, is a leading name in the German selective makeup market with affordable positioning and a comprehensive product portfolio. According to the company, more than 90% of all German perfumeries and department stores carry the range. The other two brands in the portfolio are high-end cosmetic range Make Up Factory, and Anny, an upscale trend-forward brand in the nail category. Artdeco Group’s international footprint encompasses perfumeries, cosmetic institutes, spas, and department stores in more than 60 countries. The Munich-based firm employs 680 people and operates a proprietary production site to assemble the products and logistic warehouses.Headquartered in Lodi Vecchio, the Sodalis Group is the leading Italian group in the health, beauty, and personal care market, a highly dynamic multi-brand and multichannel player with strong positions in mass market, pharmacy, and perfumery. The group has been active for more than 25 years and has a history of organic growth and acquisitions across Sodalis Pharma, Sodalis Beauty, and Sodalis FMCG. The company also has four production plants and four research & development laboratories based in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and Russia. Sales totaled €690 million in 2023 with a workforce of 1,165 people.
